<image:caption>As we turn the pages of our lives, each new chapter provides an opportunity to let go so we can reach forward towards the future. Coming up with a good plan for what’s next can help to make life run more smoothly. Cultural transitions are no different.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Welcome - Meet Laura- Lee</image:title>
<image:caption>Hello! Thanks for stopping by. This website exists because I’m passionate about travel, culture and experiences abroad. Having travelled around the world, and being a former expat myself, my experience has identified the gaps that exist in transition wellness. Turning Pointz was inspired from my time abroad and has been actualized through the spirit of giving back. Welcome to Turning Pointz!</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - More About Laura-Lee</image:title>
<image:caption>After a trip to Japan with a high school exchange, the travel bug found me early and it has never left. Through this deep love for travel, I started my career in the hotel industry when I was 16 years old because the hospitality and tourism industry would allow me to work in an environment that aligned with my passion. In my early 20s, I took some time to travel the world and backpacked for 10 months through Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. In my early 30s, as a young mother of two, my family moved to China where we lived for 4 years. During these years, I met amazing men and women who were also raising young children in a foreign country. They were from many different countries representing even more cultures and that’s what made the experience so enriching and educational. After moving back to Canada, I re-engaged with building my career and went back to school to earn a Master’s degree in Tourism Management. After reflecting on my experiences abroad, I was inspired to start a relocation consulting business. It was not a new idea, but I wanted to share what I had learned for the benefit of others in cultural transition. I had been building my business idea slowly for a few years, but when the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, not only was the tourism industry affected, but so was my business plan – so I thought. After considering the state of the world, I realized that there was no better time to start giving back due to the volume of people navigating all kinds of transitions.</image:caption>
